DESIGNING

STEP 1

Once you have chosen your gemstone, the creativity begins!

The ROX Consultants and Designers will have a meeting with you to discuss your tastes and style, so that designs concepts can be sketched.

This is the first step in the design process. Your designer will encourage you to try pieces in store, study ROX archives and perhaps even gather images of styles you are drawn towards. This will build the basis for the concept sketches. The concept sketches are usually top view sketches that depict the varying options for your jewellery creation.

ROX Designers will only use exterior images to gain an understanding of your tastes in jewellery. As creative artists, ROX Designers have a high level of respect for intellectual property, so under no circumstance will they recreate a ring you have seen elsewhere. Only the original designer and creator can execute a design as it was imagined and intended, and it is for this same reason that original ROX designs are copyright protected.

STEP 2

It is from the concept sketches that the designers establish the direction for the final design. After discovering which elements to include or exclude in the final design, technical drawings are drawn up to scale and beautifully painted. These illustrations are done on transparent artist paper and are small works of art themselves. These bench illustrations depict multiple views so you can see exactly how the piece will measure and appear. There is no room for misinterpretation. You will love seeing your dream jewel come together in this way.

The steps involved in the ROX creative process makes it very easy for the Client to understand and trust what is to be made and you will not have to second guess any detail of your piece of jewellery.

STEP 3

Once you are completely satisfied and comfortable knowing that the design is everything you imagined, ROX ask you to approve the design and pay a deposit. Custom made ROX originals will start production as soon as 50% of the total amount is received.

ROX originals, by rule, take a minimum of 4 weeks to create and can take as long as 8 depending on the complexity of design.

Keep in mind that your piece of jewellery is in fact a miniature sculpture and many steps are involved in the construction. To create a piece that lasts for generations takes time and expert hand making skills by a professional crafts person.

STEP 4

Collect and relish your truly individual ROX jewellery creation!
